PayPal reports
and dashboards

Bring your PayPal data into Filament. Create dashboards, build reports and explore your questions in plain English.

Your PayPal data, connected.

PayPal shows you transaction volumes and invoice status, but understanding which customers generate recurring revenue or how payment behavior correlates with marketing campaigns means connecting to your CRM and analytics tools.

Filament links PayPal transactions, subscriptions, and invoices to your other platforms so you can analyze payment patterns, subscription health, and revenue attribution without manual exports.

Your questions, answered.

How do I connect PayPal?

This connection uses Fivetran.

You need a PayPal administrator account and access to its developer apps.

  1. Sign in to PayPal Developer. In Apps & Credentials → REST API apps, open the app for the environment you want to connect.
  2. Copy the Client ID and reveal and copy the Secret.
  3. For a Merchant app, enable Accept payments and Subscriptions, Invoicing, Customer Disputes and Transaction Search. Scope changes can take up to nine hours to become available.
  4. Open Apps in Filament and add PayPal. Use the production connection for live data; sandbox credentials require a separate sandbox connection.
  5. Enter the Client ID and Secret Key from that same environment.
  6. Select Save & Test, then return to Filament and complete setup.
How far back does Filament sync PayPal data?

Filament syncs your complete PayPal transaction history, including all invoices, subscriptions, and payment records from when you first started using PayPal. This lets you analyze year-over-year trends and long-term customer payment behavior.

Can I connect multiple PayPal accounts to Filament?

Yes. Agencies and businesses managing multiple PayPal accounts can connect each one separately to Filament. You can then analyze data across all accounts or filter to specific accounts when asking questions.

Does Filament track PayPal subscription churn in real-time?

Filament syncs PayPal subscription data regularly throughout the day, so you can track subscription cancellations, plan changes, and billing failures as they happen. Combine this with your CRM or support tools to see what drives churn.

Can I see which marketing channels drive PayPal transactions?

Yes. Connect PayPal with Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, or your CRM to trace transactions back to their original marketing source. Ask questions like which campaigns generate the most revenue or which channels have the highest transaction values.

Which PayPal KPIs can I track?

Payment volume: count and total completed payments, keeping currencies separate. Refunds: compare refunded amounts with the corresponding completed payments. Outstanding invoices: unpaid invoice balances grouped by due date. Exclude cancelled invoices.
